This ten article introduction is going to cover Bible translations, and why I believe the KJV is Gods Word. But before we can get into all of that we must first examine whether or not this subject even matters. If the subject itself is unimportant, then why bother discussing it right? Bible translations are a subject that the far majority reject out of hand as not mattering. They have been taught that they are all Gods Word, that it doesnt matter, a tactic that closley reflects Satans own method. For centuries the devil has been working hard to make mankind question God’s Word, it goes all the way back to the beginning of time when Satan asked Eve, “Hath God said?” Still today, Satan is trying to change God’s Word, and many sincere people, unaware of the danger, are accepting his counterfeits. You may disagree, or you may think that modern versions are just fine, and that’s alright. All I ask is that you read this short series of introductory articles before making any judgments. Regardless of what the modern scholars and Bible-teachers will tell you, this subject does matter. In this short article, I want to present three main reasons why this subject is important, and worth your time.

1. Because it is God’s word

This point is simple and I won’t dwell on it, but regardless it must be said. The Bible is God’s Word, and as such we as Christians have a duty to honor that. David, under the Inspiration of God, writes in Psalms 138:2 that God has “Magnified thy Word above all Thy name.” If God holds his Word in such importance then how much more should we? The Almighty Creator of heaven and earth descended to mankind and gave us His Word. The least we can do is take the time to find out whether the Bible we are holding in our hands is that Word.

2. Because the Translations are different

This point is honestly the most important, and in many ways follows from the previous point. It’s quite simple, two things that are different, cannot both be God’s Word. If two Bible versions are different in any way, then by definition only one can be God’s Word. Because if they’re different, only one can be right. Many who claim that versions like the NIV, ESV, or NASB are just as reliable as the KJV may not be aware of the evidence supporting the KJV, or theyve trusted scholars and teachers who downplay the differences-sometimes knowingly. But the idea that all versions are equally Gods word simply doesnt hold up to scrutiny. For example, the New International Version, one of the most popular of the modern Bible versions has approximately 727,993 words in it, while the King James Bible has roughly 783,137 words words. For those who aren’t good at math, that’s a difference of 55,168 words. For comparison, that’s about as long as Matthew, Mark, and Luke combined. Meaning, that the NIV has so many words less than the KJV that it equals the removal of three of the gospels. The other versions aren’t any better either, The NKJV has 12,707 words less, equivalent to the entire book of Revelation, and the ESV has 25,698 words less, equivalent to the entire book of Numbers. As you can see from these numbers, the modern versions are very different from the KJV, and these numbers only show words that are removed, it does even showcase the words added and changed, which we will look at in more detail in a future article.

3. Sola Scriptura

This is a Latin phrase that served as one of the five main teachings of the reformation, it’s Latin for ‘Scripture alone’ it meant to convey that the Bible is our sole final authority. However, this doctrine which serves as one of the fundamentals of the Christian faith, those things that must be held to in order to be a Christian, seems to indicate only one translation can be God’s Word. Let me explain why, as we have established, modern versions are very different than the King James Bible, because of this only one can serve as our final authority. Two things that disagree cannot both be the final authority, because again, when two things are different only one can be right. If you accept modern versions then the Bible cannot be your final authority, because even modern versions disagree amongst themselves. Ultimately when you encounter a passage that’s different in all the versions you use, what will you do? Most people just choose the one they like the most, the one that they think makes sense to them. However, that makes them, not God, the final authority, they are the ones deciding what the Bible says. This is why only one Bible translation can be God’s Word, and we must be willing to take the time to understand which one that is. In order for Scripture to be our final authority, we must have a Bible that is unchanging and settled, not one that gets revised every few years like many modern versions.

This article has been short, but I think it’s more than enough to show that the subject of Bible translations is important. This isn’t necessarily meant to prove the KJV is God’s Word, the evidence for that will come, but this has simply been written to show the why. Why should we care? Why does it matter? These questions have been answered. The subject of Bible translations is important, whether you agree with my stance on the KJV or not you must accept that. Further, based on what We’ve looked at here I think it’s clear that only one translation can be God’s Word. Now that we know why it’s important and that only one translation can be God’s word, we can examine which translation that is.
